My boyfriend and I spend weekends on his boat in Lexington during the summer and we are always looking for the new and different. I read about Williams Inn in my Off the Beaten Path Michigan book. We drove the 40 minutes to the Inn after spending the day on the lake and it is a beautiful drive in the country, the sunset along the way was remarkable. You can't miss this place with a big sign that says "Let's Eat Here" and what a good suggestion it was. We are normally not buffet fans, but we made an exception and we were glad that we did. We enjoyed the pollack, crab legs, homemade soups and the salad and dessert bar. My boyfriend enjoyed the frog legs too. The food was homemade and tasted great, the crab legs were delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was good as well. The atmosphere is casual but clean with polished wood floors. This is a great place for groups. We highly recommend it and will return.

This place is great. Can't say enough good things about it. Wherever you are, drop what you're doing and head over to the Williams Inn. Fresh soup and salad bar! Who has that anymore? Outstanding. Did I mention the great service?

Ok. We found a negative this time there. One of the party got the buffet and they were not impressed at all. Everything was salty. Gravy was like jelly. There were no crab legs untill we were about to leave. Hate leaving a negative but want them to have every opportunity to address these as everything else is SO good. I had my prime rib which I assume is their old "Her or ladies" cut. They done away with the man's cut. This was still a huge piece of delicious prime rib at a very reasonable price. My baked potato was a little under cooked. I think this was the busiest I ever saw the place as our waitress seemed over burdened so this may explain the few problems. These little things are easily correctable and I definitely will be back whenever I can.

We happened onto this place when we were driving the shore of Michigan. We are so glad we found it. We had a table by the window and loved watching the birds. There are lots of huge tables - so . .they must have groups often. Robin was our server and very nice. I actually had the salad bar and I can't remember the last time I had one that was so fresh. My husband had their cod/fish - and enjoyed that. It was obvious from their guest book that they have many tourists - and by listening to conversations of other diners (not evesdropping - just can't help but hearing) - locals come here, also.

Went here for there breakfast buffet, you get what you pay for. $5.95 if I remember correctly, problem was they never filled anything in a timely manner. Seriously, we had to wait for over fifteen mintues for them to put out more eggs. Not much of a selection either, Al's down the street has a bigger selection and the food taste better. Also there's this new invention they have, it's called central air...try turning it on so while people are waiting for you to refill the buffet which you are supposedly known for we don't sweat. Thanks

Just happened to stop here to eat our last meal before heading back to Ypsi after vacationing nearby on Lake Huron. I'm glad we stopped. Places like this are rare these days and are a throwback to a simpler time. The menu is "country dining" and surprisingly extensive. I had the soup and salad bar and a chicken fried steak the size of my head. My wife had the pork chops and my son had a burger. Everything was cooked fresh and tasted delicious. Very modest prices too. Service was subdued but efficient. My favorite part was the authentic Michigan country atmosphere - replete with bird feeders scattered across an extensive lawn. It's nice to watch the birds come and go while you eat your meal. If you find yourself tooling down Lakeshore Road with an growling stomach it would be in your best interest to stop at Williams Inn. You won't be sorry.

Eh, place was an old farmhouse. Huge restaurant with banquet tables set up. We ordered the buffet because it seemed to have everything that was on the menu including crab legs. Food was so so. If you're looking for crab go to Al's down the street. We ordered a drink which no one there knew how to make. All in all I would t go back.
